         Your paddle repair specialist

hand crafted wooden paddles cost a lot of money. Taking care of it helps keep them on the water. Most repairs are relatively inexpensive until the paddles are neglected. dont neglect your paddle, take care of it before it get to bad so it will take care of you when you need it. If you see an area that is discoloring due to water or where you have chips or cracks or are showing bare wood, its time to do something.

                             Tips

I use dynel cloth to protect the tips of most of the paddles I repair and make. I have also worked with dynel rope and aluminuim. Basic tip repairs cover chipping, fractures, and tip replacements.

Patches: $20 per patch

Fractures/replacement: $50 per blade

Relacing the glass without a patch: $12.50 more per blade

These prices only include a standard veneer plate. These are more plain than fiquired. For a more curly, quilted, or burly may cost extra.

                          Edges

There are many different edging materials. Glass rope, dynel cloth, dynel rope, urethane, and wood. are the most common edges used.

Glass rope, dynel cloth or rope: $15 per edge. patches start at $5

Wood edges:  . This price may very depending on the wood used for the edge.

Urethane edges: $60 per edge.

                          Shoulders

Shoulders help seal the end grain of the blades to protect them against the enviroment. These have also been called snake heads. Wooden edges cover the shoulder which is part of the cost difference. As with edges, most of the synthetic materials can be used for your shoulders.

Glass rope, dynel cloth or rope: $12.50

                     Shafts and grips

Wear can come from on the river to off the river. For wood paddles, your shaft has the no synthetic material on it than any a coat of epoxy. Composite paddles can have carbon, kevlar, dynel, and fiberglass reinforcing that can be fixed.

Most K-1's need to be lenghtend before they are respliced no matter what lenght or feather. The prices vary on the woods and the lenght you may want.

$50 to resplice your k-1 if the paddle does not need to have an extension.

$100.00 to resplice your k-1 if your adding an accent or extending the shaft.

This price includes recarving, epoxying the shaft and varnishing the paddle.

                    The blade

The cloth on your blades is its armor. it also helps its structure. to many chips and scratches or even patches can cause your blade to weaken. discoloring will let you know where the glass needs attention.
